Big Bear Eagle Cam Update: Jackie & Shadow Brave the Storm with Two Growing Eaglets 🦅🌧️

A dramatic spring day in Big Bear Lake brought wind, shifting skies, and incredible parenting moments from everyone’s favorite bald eagle pair, Jackie and Shadow. Despite the blustery conditions, their two newly hatched eaglets stayed safe, warm, and well-fed—thanks to nonstop teamwork.
The morning began with a glowing red sky over the lake, followed quickly by “breakfish” as both chicks eagerly ate side by side. As the weather intensified, Shadow delivered multiple fish throughout the day, ensuring a steady food supply while Jackie focused on brooding—keeping the chicks protected from wind and rain.
At one point, Shadow stepped in for brooding duty (slightly bending Jackie’s rules), but she quickly reclaimed her position, shielding the eaglets with precision and care. Between storm breaks, both parents coordinated feedings, keeping the chicks’ crops full and their development on track.
By evening, five food deliveries had been made—an impressive display of dedication and survival instinct. These early days are critical, and Jackie and Shadow continue to prove why they are one of the most beloved bald eagle families to watch.
For bird lovers, eagle watchers, and fans of the Bald Eagle journey, moments like these capture the resilience and beauty of nature in real time.
