Eagle Family: Fish Fights, Flight Returns, and Gizmo’s Big Day 🦅

After Sunny’s big flight and time away in the Simba Tree, Gizmo had the nest to herself—until Shadow swooped in with a fish. Naturally, Gizmo grabbed it, dragged it away, and even snapped at Dad. When Jackie arrived, Gizmo played it cool—but still dragged the fish further from everyone.

Then things got wild. The roof of the nest tree shook, twigs fell, and Gizmo turned her attention back to her prize. But before she could enjoy it, Shadow took the fish and started eating it! Gizmo, stunned, didn’t resist—she just edged in like she was expecting him to share. No luck. So she went back to pulling her own bites, even trying to sneak the whole thing away.

When Jackie stepped in, Shadow snapped at her—but she stole the fish anyway. Gizmo, getting bolder, tangled with Jackie for it…and Jackie, after a bit of a tussle, let Gizmo win. It was like a round of eagle survival training: challenge the eaglet, then reward her grit. Gizmo celebrated with a joyful victory dance on the fish.

Meanwhile, from her perch in the Simba Tree, Sunny watched it all. She saw Shadow fly by with the fish. She saw Jackie return to the nest. And then—Sunny flew in. Her landing sent twigs raining down on the family below.

She perched atop the nest, surveyed the scene, then made her way down—hopping branch by branch, while everyone below looked up, wondering what she was up to. Finally, she dropped down to rejoin them.

By then, Jackie had the fish. Sunny strutted over and took it. Shadow glanced at the camera—was that shock or fatherly pride on his face?

Gizmo tried to tug it away again. Sunny just danced the fish across the nest, then, with one powerful gulp, swallowed the rest whole. No debate. No sharing.

With the drama behind them, Sunny spent the rest of the day back in the nest, clearly relieved to be home. She and Gizmo rested together on the front porch, soaking in the calm. Sunny’s return seems to have lit a spark—Gizmo wingersized intensely all day, perhaps dreaming of her own first flight.

Both eaglets are thriving—healthy, strong, and full of character. Jackie and Shadow are clearly preparing them for the wild ahead.
