Jackie & Shadow Build the Nest and the Romance 🦅💛🪵

It’s nestoration season in Big Bear—but let’s be honest, Jackie and Shadow are doing just as much flirting as they are building! Over the last couple of days, the pair has been spotted bringing in sticks, sharing sweet beaky kisses, and playfully bonding around the nest.

On Thursday, both eagles spent the early day perched in their favorite lookout spots before grabbing a couple of sticks each for the nest. While Shadow stayed focused on construction, Jackie had other priorities—hopping playfully between the porches and up to the iconic “Y” branch once favored by Sunny and Gizmo. She teased, flirted, and made sure to stay close to her king.

Friday brought more stick deliveries—Shadow brought in four solid pieces, including one hefty branch he placed as a guardrail. Jackie? Just one stick… and a whole lot of charm. With hormones clearly kicking in, she spent more time bonding than building, and Shadow didn’t seem to mind. At one point, he even gave her wing a playful nibble and initiated a beaky kiss of his own.

As the full moon rose, the two tucked in for the night together in the Roost Tree—proving once again that they’re not just nestmates, but soulmates.
