Morning Duets and Rowdy Ravens

As crisp November air settles over Big Bear, Jackie and Shadow continue to bless eagle fans with early morning duets on the Lookout Snag and peaceful nights side-by-side in their beloved Roost Tree. Their bond is as strong as ever—and this week, we got a front-row seat to their beauty, strength, and teamwork.
On Monday afternoon, a pair of rowdy ravens took advantage of the eagles’ absence and were vocalizing around the nest tree basement. But peace didn’t last long—Jackie swooped in through the back porch, reclaiming her territory with quiet authority. The ravens scattered, and Jackie stayed to observe the nest and groom herself in the autumn breeze for over two hours.
Just before sunset, Shadow arrived with a soft landing, moving a few sticks around the nest before Jackie joined him. The two reconnected and surveyed their stick floor—a sign that light nestorations may be coming soon. After their bonding session, Jackie followed Shadow as they flew off together toward the Roost Tree for another cozy night.
