Nestorations Heat Up in Big Bear 🦅❤️🪵

Jackie and Shadow kicked off Saturday with serious stick action—plus some flirtatious feather nibbling and nesting prep that’s giving us all the feels as egg season approaches.

Shadow started strong with an early stick drop, but Jackie stole the show, bringing in ten sticks in under two hours. Among her haul? A beautifully decorated pine branch and a huge "baby gate" stick perfect for nest safety. Talk about mama mode activated.

But it wasn’t all business—Shadow couldn’t resist teasing Jackie mid-stick placements, playfully nibbling her feathers and sneaking in a few beaky kisses. Jackie didn’t seem to mind. She paused, spun around, and exchanged a few sweet moments before he hopped over her (literally!) and flew off for a break.

Jackie stayed focused, completing her stick run and even posing like a queen in perfect back porch light for her fans. Later, she returned for a quick "pancake test"—laying flat in the nest to assess comfort before flying off at sunset. Add in some mating vocals heard off-camera, and it’s clear: things are heating up in the skies over Big Bear.

With January egg season on the horizon, it’s the perfect time to celebrate Jackie and Shadow’s love, labor, and legendary parenting.
