Snow, Sticks & Sweet Moments – Jackie & Shadow Begin Nestorations ❄️🪵🦅

With colder temps, rain, and even a dusting of snow in Big Bear, Jackie and Shadow have officially kicked off nestoration season—and it’s got eagle cam fans buzzing!

Early Friday morning, Shadow arrived first, dropping a stick into the snow-dusted nest. Moments later, Jackie made a dramatic entrance through the side, bringing her own contribution. From there, the day was full of teamwork, chortles, breath you could see, and even a few beak kisses on the Lookout Snag.

But the real show? Shadow’s afternoon stick deliveries—one after the other, each bigger than the last. One gnarly, curly-limbed stick gave him a good fight (complete with foot stomps), but that didn’t stop him. His final stick of the day measured nearly 4 feet long! Jackie supervised, approved, and later joined him for a smooth glide off to their Roost Tree for the night.

With egg laying season in this region beginning as early as January, it’s clear: Jackie and Shadow are getting ready.
